About Carlos is a Los Angeles based photographer. His early years were spent in the small quaint neighborhoods of East Los Angeles. When Carlos reached his grade school years, his father moved the family just outside of Long Beach, California, where Carlos naturally gravitated towards beach activities and the skateboarding culture. It wasn’t until his high school years that he began to experiment with photography and capturing some of what was going on around him. Carlos attended and graduated from Art Center College of Design, and soon after began assisting film director Tony Kaye, and was mentored by photography icon Paul Jasmin. He used what he learned from his early mentors and headed to New York. After spending some time in New York, Carlos decided to return to Los Angeles and began to focus on building his body of work. Today Carlos divides his time between both major cities and calls Venice California his home.
